Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

About My Work

Who do you work with?
I work with women in midlife who are struggling with weight changes, low energy, digestive issues, and confusion around food, especially during perimenopause.
What is your approach?
I use behavioural nutrition and lifestyle support rather than restrictive diets. My focus is on helping clients understand their body, rebuild trust with food, and create sustainable habits that fit real life.
Is this the right type of support for everyone?
This service is best suited to people who want long-term, sustainable change. It is not suitable for those looking for rigid diets, quick fixes, or medical treatment.
Do you prescribe diets or meal plans?
No. I do not provide rigid meal plans or calorie-controlled diets. I support clients with personalised guidance, education, and habit-based strategies.

Qualifications, Professional Registration & Insurance

What are your qualifications?
I hold a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional and Dietetic Medicine) and further training in Nutritional Therapy and Behavioural Nutrition.
Are you registered or accredited?
Yes. I am a registered practitioner with the Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA).
Are your services recognised by private health insurance?
Yes. Some private health funds may offer rebates depending on your level of cover. To be eligible, your policy must include cover for nutrition online consultations. Please check directly with your provider and note that “nutrition” and “dietitian” are two distinct services. Payment is made in full at the time of booking and an invoice is issued after the consultation, which you can then use to claim your rebate.

Conditions & Areas I Support

What can you help me with?
I can assist with:
  • Perimenopause and menopause support
  • Pre, during, and post appetite suppressant treatment (including Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Saxenda, etc.)
  • Gastrointestinal tract conditions such as IBS, IBD, reflux, FODMAP issues, constipation, and food intolerances
  • Weight management support
  • Management of chronic and metabolic conditions
Support is provided through nutrition guidance, behaviour change, and lifestyle strategies.

GLP-1 Medications, Appetite Suppressants & Bariatric Surgery

Do you work with clients using appetite suppressant medications?
Yes. I support clients using medications such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro and Saxenda. My work focuses on helping you eat adequately, manage side effects, protect muscle mass, and build sustainable habits alongside medication use, so you can maintain your results after treatment.
Can you support me before, during, and after using GLP-1 medications?
Yes. Support can be provided before starting treatment, during medication use, and when tapering or stopping. The focus is on nutrition adequacy, symptom management, and long-term behaviour change.
Do you work with bariatric surgery patients?
Yes. I support clients before and after bariatric surgery with nutrition education, symptom management, and long-term eating behaviour support, working alongside your dietitian and GP.
Do you prescribe or manage medications?
No. Medications, pre- and post-surgical care are managed by your dietitian and doctor. My role is to support nutrition, habits, and lifestyle alongside medical treatment.

Consultations & Programs

How do your consultations work?
Consultations are held online. We discuss your current challenges, habits, symptoms, and goals, and create a practical plan tailored to you.
What languages do you offer consultations in?
Consultations are available in English and Portuguese.
Do you offer one-off consultations?
I primarily work with clients through structured programs or packages rather than single sessions, as sustainable change requires continuity.
What is your main program?
My main program Take Charge is designed to support women through education, habit building, and ongoing guidance rather than short term protocols. You can learn more about it by clicking here.
How long do clients usually work with you?
Most clients work with me for several months to allow time for habits and confidence to build.

Location & Eligibility

Do you work with clients outside Australia?
Yes. I offer online consultations only and work with clients worldwide, except for clients based in the USA due to professional and insurance limitations.
Do you work with clients in the United States?
No. Due to public liability and professional insurance limitations, I am unable to work with clients based in the USA.

Expectations & Results

Will I lose weight?
Weight changes vary between individuals. My work focuses on improving habits, confidence, and health rather than promising specific weight outcomes. In my approach, weight loss is seen as a consequence of improved energy levels, good habits, dietary changes and overall health. This supports a healthy metabolism, healthy body composition and set you up for long-term success.
How is your approach different from dieting?
Dieting relies on restriction and short term rules. My approach focuses on understanding your body, improving consistency, and building long-term behaviours.
How soon will I see results?
This depends on your starting point, health, and consistency. Many clients notice improvements in energy, clarity, and confidence before physical changes.

Practical Questions

Do I need special foods or supplements?
Any recommendations are personalised and discussed during sessions.
Is this suitable if I am on medication or HRT?
Yes, but medication and HRT should be discussed with your GP. My work supports lifestyle and nutrition alongside medical care.
